Gary Habermas, leading Resurrection Scholar
Gary Habermas is the distinguished professor of apologetics and philosophy and chairman of the department of philosophy and theology of Liberty University, author of numerous books, and a recognized authority and scholar on the resurrection of Jesus.
For years, Dr. Habermas counted outspoken atheist Antony Flew as a friend, even as the two met on the debate stage in various venues. After years of discussion and debate, Flew renounced his long-standing atheistic worldview and embraced a deistic theism, a mere six years before his death.
While Habermas’s credentials, experience, and writing credits alone are enough to recommend him, those who hear him speak are drawn to the personal side of his story. His journey through doubt and heartache is one to which every Christian can relate and he brings to his readers, and his audience, a deep conviction forged in the fires of life.
Dr. Habermas is the plenary speaker Wednesday, 7 p.m., January 8, 2014, and Thursday, 8 a.m., January 9, at Defend the Faith, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. All plenary sessions are free. You won’t want to miss out.
